[Music] how you doing I get a sesame with smoked salmon cream cheese and then the everything bagel with the cream cheese and tomato thank you have a good one we out here in East Village Manhattan to try nyc’s newest viral Bagel of course from Apollo Bagels if y’all are up on food like me then y’all know a Gusto again y’all remember last year we filmed a New York City Bagel tour but then guess what Apollo Bagels went ahead and open opened up in early 2024 had to see what the hype was about and it is a Saturday so we waited about 45 minutes but you know what Yoda said in Star Wars good things take time if it’s good food I’m down to wait in the line people are so used to today driving through McDonald’s or Starbucks and getting their food like that come on if you want some quality it’s all right in New York City we wait in lines for good food now not 3 4 hours got a couple of wheat rings and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into these this is the everything bagel with tomato cream cheese they throw some beautiful sea salt Flakes and and some olive oil on there m holy moly this is incredible they only do three types of bagels at Apollo plain everything Sesame y’all know me I don’t do plain Bagels then you can choose your toppings like cream cheese tomato butter jam smoked salmon right off the bat this is a heavy hearty Bagel it’s crispy on the outside and Incredibly soft on the inside the cream cheese is very smooth extremely creamy sometimes the cream cheese can be more like chewy cuz it’s been refrigerated too much this is an excellent temperature now those Tomatoes they’re not dinky little slices of tomatoes my boys these are thick slices of tomato they top them off with some sea salt Flakes and drizzle it with olive oil they go nuts with the everything seasoning they’re not stingy with that everything seasoning it’s extremely flavorful salty sharp peppery crunchy so many textures going on it just makes like a really nice meal even though you do have to wait in line for these it’s worth it just for that tomato alone this is something I’ve been missing in my life I’ve never had a bagel with cream cheese and tomato and nothing else it’s a good one it’s a winner we also got the sesame seed bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese Dill red onion and capers no tomato on here surprisingly but this one looks beautiful this is a picture perfect Bagel sandwich oh my God that’s a lot of deal I definitely think it’s the move to get a sesame seed or plain bagel if you’re going to go ahead with the salmon sandwich because the everything seasonings they they kind of clash with that smoked salmon I think it’s important to let that smoked salmon shine this is extremely well smoked a lot of Dill the most Dill I’ve ever seen on one of these sandwiches narissa the beautiful cam person can smell it just like the everything bagel this one’s Crispy Crunchy on the outside soft on the inside a lot of sesame seeds they do not skimp on their ingredients and toppings here you know it’s not like a little Salt Bay type of situation they’re like shoveling on to the bagels baking them up nice and crispy yo this is a lot of smoked salmon again A lot of times they will just maybe give you a little thin sliver like they’re rationing for the winter they drizzled more olive oil on this it’s actually getting all over to take out container and onto my hands but that’s okay it’s good quality oil I love the sesame seed flavor especially on a bagel the cream cheese has a nice milky flavor good consistency sometimes they over refrigerate it and it’s kind of more chewy than the bagel which that’s not a good look a lot of Dill lot of onion Caper on here completing the sandwich no tomato which I actually appreciate cuz the tomato and the smoked salmon they kind of fight with one another cuz it’s like a similar type of texture I actually appreciate it without the tomato and I might start ordering it like that from every bagel shop when I get that lock sandwich it’s very photogenic which is also another great thing but sometimes you go to food spots that are popular and the food’s very photogenic it’s beautiful you can frame it put it up on your wall but then you take that bite and you’re like it’s mid yo if you call this mid you don’t know food these are so enjoyable and I can see why they’re so popular I can see why they’re taken off it looks good it tastes good makes it feel good that’s a trifecta you could order your bagels like we did you could also get a butter Bagel butter and jam Bagel they got smoked fish and smoked salmon on the side that you can order orange juice and coffee as a Florida boy you know that fresh squeeze orange juice is always calling out to me so you know it’s a nice brunch out here in the East Village [Music] cheers wow yeah these must be Florida oranges [Music] welcome to the only Social Club in Gotham where Batman and Joker could share a space it’s the Gotham Burger Social Club on the Lower East Side they started from a popup but the owner Mike has now a brick and mor spot right here in Lees you know on the nice side of Manhattan below 14th Street where all the cool kids hang out we got us a chocolate egg cream two burgers one single Gotham Smash Burger whatever everything and a double Smash Burger with everything but the ketchup y’all know what’s everything on the Gotham Smash Burger it’s fried onions it’s American cheese ketchup mustard it’s their Club sauce pickles got to have pickles on a Smash Burger we also got a couple of sides tater tots nothing on them and we got their famous onion rings with the club sauce and Mike went ahead and threw in their ghost pepper ranch sauce so you may see my face turning red in a few seconds Smash Burger with everything there’s some thick pickles in there top of the bun is crispy they pressed it down nicely fried onions in that burger the edges are so crispy and yeah it’s actually pretty good with everything on it it reminds me again of what a McDonald’s cheeseburger should taste like excellent excellent we’re going to try to double without the ketchup see if that makes any kind of difference so this is a double Patty on here lots of American cheese pickles spilling out got the club sauce on there fried onion so Oklahoma style nice potato bun fried up crispy oh boy let’s go let’s get it m damn that double Patty wow personal life philosophy of mine if one burger patty is good then two burger patties is legendary it’s just so melty together like the whole combination of cheese and beef melts in your mouth that is when you’re taking a bite from the middle part the edges are crisp because they’re pressing those Burgers down and you got that nice onion flavor in there a crispy pickle with that little zing and the club sauce and mustard dancing together a beautiful Tango it’s nice that I can talk to the camera and eat my food before it gets cold that’s a skill that took a lot of years to develop my boys let’s try a little potato TT potato crispy on the outside shredded potato good salty dip it in this ghost pepper ranch pray for me [Music] boyso try these onion rings with the club sauce these are beer battered onion rings housemade so they’re irregularly shaped you know none of this machine cut nonsense we’re in New York baby you got to bring it that’s why we came here cuz we heard some legendary things about this spot Gotham Burger Social Club on the Lower East Side on Essex Street just south of hon cheers talk about beer batter I could definitely chaste the beer in that one it’s good some days I just sit at home when I’m editing and I think about onion rings and it’s been a long time that we’ve been searching New York for a really really fire order of onion rings we just found a here crispy onions out here look at that pickle that pickle like an inch thick lots of melty cheese greate potato bun incredible talk about hitting the spot this is a magnificent meal one of the iconic drinks of New York City the chocolate egg cream looks beautiful it just SPS out Nostalgia for you in your face let’s go lots of carbonation going on in there with a chocolatey flavor it’s basically like a chocolate pot really good makes me feel like I’m growing up in Brooklyn in the 1930s this is a perfectly sized order for myself and Nissa good space cool music playing you can bring a whole group here you got some friends from out of town you want to give them some good Smash Burgers this is the spot tell them Lou Gusto C they also put jalapenos on these Burgers I kind of for got to tell yall that and then I took a bite I got a nice pickled spiciness really good they don’t go crazy with the pickles and jalapenos just enough so that each bite is unique when we go out for Smash Burgers I’m kind of back and forth do I get a single do I get a double I’m really glad that we did one of each today because when you get a single burger you can really taste those charred crispy edges the onions and it’s not an overwhelming bite cuz you get to taste all the toppings dancing and playing and starting a podcast together but that double Patty two beefs back to back like backto back home runs with cheese in the middle it’s an overall beefier experience so each one has its merits we can sit here and make pros and cons all day and whether you should get a single Smash Burger or a double Smash Burger I’m fortunate enough that I could get both taste each and tell Y how I feel we got to meet Mike who runs this place great guy making good food for the people of New York City cheers [Music] somebody call up Commissioner Gordon and tell them to come down here ASAP there’s an APB on these smash brgs [Music] since we were in Lees we had to make a stop to economy candy got some sour candy some spaghetti Fizz and sour sticks this a pink lemonade sour stick by [Music] pasz like a mild sour flavor chewy think [Music] lemonade cumber soda from baroto the Amaro highball [Music] cheers can we do the E and the Columbo question what is the right answer when you’re hungry it’s lunchtime and you’re in New York City answer always a sandwich we Joey roses on the Lower East Side I’ve been hearing great things about this spot and since I’ve tried so many sandwiches around New York I figure it was only right on a daylight today beautiful early spring to come out to Joey roses to try a couple of the amazing signature sandwiches they got a Hard Eight menu and a specialty sandwich menu we went ahead and got one sandwich from each menu we got the iy and the Columbo the iy has pruto salami asiago cheese hot sweet cherry peppers and the Columbo has housemade poretta with jalapenos carrots and provol cheese olive oil and oregano top that sandwich off they both come on beautifully freshly baked hogi bread or hero bread or sub bread or whatever type of bread you want to call it it’s all the same I’m going to dive first into the easty because that was the one that I really had my eye on it’s the first sandwich on the menu so it may be number one on the menu but will it be number one in my heart let’s find out it has pruto salami that’s always a good tag team combination when you talking about sandwich meats there’s also aago cheese which is a rarity on sandwiches even here in New York and sweet cherry peppers with this nice soft freshly baked bread let’s dive into this one the easty for the Lower easty [Music] Side this sandwich has everything you want for a world championship roster amazing fresh baked bread that’s easy to chew great cheese and meat and amazing complimentary toppings that are like the cleanup hits the Columbo sandwich with housemade poretta jalapenos and carrots that have been pickled it’s one of the specialty sandwiches and it’s the one that jumped off the menu I remember watching Columbo as a kid pretending like I was that famous detective going all around solving cases we also have some provolone cheese on here olive oil and oregano soft bread it’s a thick sub bread or hero bread or poogy bread whatever you want want to call it but it squishes down cuz it’s nice and [Music] soft thinly sliced jalapenos on here and the housemade poretta is also sliced very thinly it’s enough for a good chewy bite the bread is so good it tastes freshly baked to me love this sandwich M I like the jalapenos on this one when I saw poretta in the menu I thought it was going to be the big thick slices of the poretta but it’s thinly sliced so really good move to order this one I eat chicken all week cuz I’m bulking on the weekends it’s nice to get a little bit of pork in these Italian cold cuts [Music] phenomenal it’s hard to pick a favorite both are enjoyable and get my highest recommendation [Music] this is an espresso from El Salvador I had to pay a dollar extra for this m smokey [Music] o la la oh my [Music] goodness Pano cholot famous cardamum bum and the egg custard and rhubarb rhubarb peas and carrots bun which one should I try first looks so neat like it belongs on the top of a Christmas present famous cardamon bun from La Cabra Bakery s tastes like tea a tea pastry it’s like it’s dipped in tea wow that’s really interesting you got to try that there’s pieces of rhubarb in it too it’s in season right now and I figured egg custard must have a lot of protein [Music] Lumi babka pistachio Rose Quon tahini chocolate chip cookie Elderberry hibiscus iced tea and drip coffee # no cream no sugar hey we’re at Libre B Bakery in Cooper Square they’re known for their Danish SL Middle Eastern techniques with their baked goods and it’s super popular on the weekend so prepare to wait in line and because they’re known for a lot of different things we had to try a nice sampling of their pastries they also roast their own coffee beans which is amazing got myself a drip coffee they are constantly churning out baked goods here we waited in line maybe like 5 10 minutes so not too bad Rose pistachio Quant it’s one of the signature pastries it’s very dense forant a lot of oil in there and that pistachio spread not too sweet nice and savory kind of like a combination of a baklava with a French cant really great combo and I’m liking the flavors and textures here all right the Lumi babka looks like a nice almost like a uh braided bun cheers it’s a very light kind of Airy dough on the bottom it’s it’s more firm and little sticky on the bottom there’s some lemon curd in there they said what I like about this pastry is that it’s not super sweet neither is that pistachio qu not overwhelming flavors that are clashing with one another everything is very subtle complimentary it’s like a finely directed Japanese piece of cinnamon then the tahini chocolate chip cookie some sea salt on top of that cookie and I think the tahini is mixed in it’s a unique flavor still very classic I love it ooh great coffee you can always tell the quality of coffee out of place by getting a black coffee with no cream no sugar no additions this one’s a hit I don’t know why they didn’t give us a plate everyone else got a plate avocado green tahini cucumber radish cilantro an a faka bread all right let’s go m oo cucumber radish crispy creamy avocado and some good dense salad f*cka [Music] bread all right boys you know I got you covered when you’re looking for great co*cktail spots in New York City where you could bring a date we’re at the Tusk bar which is part of the Evelyn Hotel a super rare an ancient Landmark Hotel however you want to call it the tus bar has a taxidermic ostrich on the wall I think that tells you everything that you need to know got a couple of co*cktails for this evening I got myself the Ambrosia punch it’s monkey shoulder whiskey cognac PESA citrus green tea and honey this looks great comes with a big old Ice Cube like when you look up ice cube in the dictionary that’s what you find cheers oo that’s good this is the upon arrival essentially a remix of a Jin and tonic cheers oo that’s [Music] fancy yeah these are good co*cktails smooth but strong that’s what you want a good co*cktail I think a taxidermic orange in there too [Music] we’re beginning our evening at cocoa do with one of the most luxurious snack items in the United States chicken nugget with caviar cheers y’all oo yo that’s one firm nugget little bit of creaminess inside on the outside very crispy and the caviar on top adds a nice bold fishy flavor to the Nugget this is unlike anything you’ve ever tried before definitely an MVP of the appetizer world my only question is do these come in a 24 piece chicken nugget we each got the bucket list meal and to start with we got a little bit of chicken broth with scallion Bottoms Up [Music] oo chickeny super Savory oo it’s getting the pette used to consuming some real high-end chicken so we got some bonchan here nice big bucket of chicken Colonel Sanders would be very jealous of this bucket of chicken right now because I’m sure that there’s more than 12 herbs and spices on this one they fry it in a sugar cane type of oil and they use these Henny Penny frying machines that filter the oil then once the oil’s done they use it as biodiesel fuel we’re not going to talk about sustainable energy right now it’s all about this luxurious chicken try some of this banan I’m actually not sure what’s what but you know like they say a banan in the hand is worth two on the plate that’s crispy and acidic a little bit spicy maybe this is a radish or a pineapple def finely radish so we got four dipping sauces with this Fried Chicken I’ll just go ahead and go for it I guess it’s less of a dipping sauce and more of a uh squeezing sauce I’m just going to try it naked to start off with wow this is some of the juiciest Fried Chicken I’ve ever sunk my teeth into big crispy minimal oiliness on the outside crunchy and Hearty it’s a it’s a meaty bike these are free range chickens from Amish Country in Pennsylvania some of them go on to be lawyers doctors and others end up in this amazing golden bucket little bit of GOI Jang sauce cheers oo wow I like that sauce just some amazing chicken so the first round comes just the original recipe OG then we got the four dipping sauces and we ordered a bottle of champagne goo do has the largest champagne list the biggest champagne list the most massive champagne list in the entire United States that’s amazing I got to ask her to have sherry for my friend Frasier but so far we are really really enjoying this Fried Chicken meal it’s Korean Fried Chicken but elevated to a whole new Plateau they not talking like level five level 10 we’re talking like level Michael Jordan in terms of fried chicken then we got this soy sauce garlic glazed fried chicken macaroni and cheese with chili oil couple of chicken nuggets with caviar and a bottle of champagne cuz we’re celebra make sure you subscribe bro soy sauce soy sauce garlic glaze Korean Fried Chicken from cocon Dot woo wow the perfect amount of glaze on this it’s cool that the way that they set this up because you can taste it unadulterated then a little bit of glaze on it so juicy so tender so crispy on the outside and for fried chicken yo it’s not leaving my hands super oily it’s a little bit of oil it is fried chicken after all but they do use that oil made from sugar cane chickens grown in Amish Country it’s a phenomenal experience so far I’m going hit this bottle of champagne now ain’t nothing but a chicken [Music] [Music] wingoo it is next to impossible to get reservation to Coco do right now but if you put my name in Louis Gusto you may get lucky and get some seaing at the bar or high top so just keep that in mind and what you talking about the all-time greatest side dishes for Korean Fried Chicken of course you got the bansan we got shreds of lettuce we got some radish that’s been pickled celery that tastes like it’s been dipped in a hearty thick root beer but of course the granddaddy of them all not mashed potatoes not KES LA but macaroni and cheese boy with a chili oil oh yeah let’s try this one this is a proprietary cheese blend that you can only find here at CoCo [Music] do now that is some cheesy mac that chili oil sneaks up on you though so be careful but it’s really really good comes in a little mini Skillet don’t will it just Skillet oh that’s good got to try that it slaps like your baby mama [Laughter] M oh it’s so good it’s really crunchy they’ve got to fry it at least three or four times and supposedly the frying oil is healthier than Olive Oil cuz it’s made from sugar cane they brine it then they coat it with some rice flour fry it multiple times with that sugar cane oil and that’s how it comes out just like this paired it with champagne or sparkling wine so good oh sure yeah thank you these are the cold noodles yo it’s okay I understand the it’s a nice pet cleanse before the dessert yes do the shop we got to do it together we’ll do this off camera so we don’t promote drinking amongst the youth cheers it’s just for show I don’t really drink it lemon frozen yogurt with a blueberry sauce this is our dessert at CoCo [Music] do tastes like a fancy pie that’s good everything here has been so playful on the palette very good very good very [Music] nice what up bro welcome to the Mud Club on the Lower East Side of Manhattan this is a New York City popup big shop inside the old scars location they’re all about the bagel sandwiches here at the Mud Club it’s been on my list for months and y’all know I’ve been trying all the bagels all around this city so it’s only right only appropriate that I had to come over to the Mud Club and get not one not two but three Bagel sandwiches to really get a sampling of what they have to offer I am so hyped for this we’re going to dive head first into the Montreal this is smoked beef brisket pickles hot mustard which is also made by them and I got it under everything bagel so much beef in there that it’s just kind of spilling out the side but that’s all right that’s how we do little thick there you go let’s get into this one more beef just ganing out the bagel it’s very compact dense Bagel little bit of crispiness obviously some chew to it very easy to eat it’s important when you have a bagel sand especially one that’s piled three stories high like this montrea that the bagel’s easy to eat so that you get a nice bite with a little bit of everything in there some pickle some mustard and some of that beef it’s a nice fatty smoked cut of meat like I said there’s some on the paper here so I can try it kind of by itself with a little bit of mustard on it the last time I had a bagel like this was in London at the bagel bake the spot that’s open 24 hours and we got the pami bagel long strips of pami on that plain bagel this one is a more upscale version of that along with the hot mustard that’s homemade and the pickles it’s a great sandwich so we take another [Music] bite the mustards a little bit sweet I don’t really get a lot of spice in that one maybe I’ve been used I’m getting used to it cuz I had that Mala broth the other day really good bagel sandwich definitely feeling this one there not a lot of places around New York City where you can get beef brisket on a bagel the Wolfie is a sesame seed bag with Scallon cream cheese and bacon everybody loves bacon every everybody likes bacon even if you’re a vegan you like that vegan bacon Don’t Front there you go sliced in half a lot of seeds on there which I like I don’t like when you get a bagel and they kind of just drizzle on a little bit of topping and I love sesame seeds so similar texture on this Bagel the bacon and scall and cream cheese that’s an interesting Duo it’s not often that I’ve had that combination I think my brain is trying to figure out what direction it’s going got the sharpness from the scallion excellent pork fat flavor this is the Fisher Bagel the big dog show stoer Instagram worthy Bagel sandwich right here served the Open Face inside of a box C sanded with smoked trout cream cheese Dill pickled watermelon Rish and you can add trout rope for an extra five bones so we went ahead and did that cuz it just looks so pretty and maybe we can save one little fish egg to bring home the Rowdy we got a choice of bagel we want we poppy seed for this bad boy I’m going to eat it over the box cuz I have a feeling that that trout row is going to go once I take that bite here we go M wow that is one interesting bite smoked fish inside cream cheese that’s an old standby like that comfortable pair of leather shoes that you’ve had for 20 years when you slip on and still Contour to every curve and facet of your foot out of the three this is probably the one with the most wow factor it’s the one that just an explosion of flavors of textures of just newness the Mud Club is a spot to come if you like Bagels but you also want a satisfying meal to me it seems like the focus is all about the sandwiches the toppings everything is lovingly made perfectly described in the menu you can tell these sandwiches weren’t just thrown together it was very creative and crafted to the bagel connoisseur this is the type of bagel that you can photograph with your A7 S 3 print it out nice and large and hang it above your couch when you walk into the Mud Club you’re greeted by this whole handmade aesthetic that plans some folksy music and this is like you’re in a cool Club you’re going up your best friend’s house who happens to be an artisan and just like let me just boil up a few dozen of my handmade Bagels top them off with some cool ingredients that are a little upscale to really bring home that whole experience it’s cool that we get to sit out in this old shack which is where we filmed our scars Pizza film a few years ago eating a similar but yet different type of food in this amazing neighborhood the Lower East Side which is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan so if you’ll excuse me I’m going to destroy the other half of my Montreal bagel all right Gusto gang we got one more surprise for you Nicholas hooked it up with another bagel this is their bacon egg and cheese on Sesame bagel for the bagels they use organic flour they boil them in honey water and then wood fire them I have to say after eating those first three these are the most thoughtful and creative Bagel sandwich I’ve ever had every ingredient you can tell is picked specifically to go with the others and the bagels aren’t humongous like you might get at other bagel shop sometimes you want a big Bagel sometimes you want a smaller Bagel sometimes you want just a little bit of shmear and sometimes you want the full monty Real Deal big Holyfield sandwich and that’s what they’re all about here at the Mud Club is the sandwiches and and I love that especially as somebody who’s currently in bulking season still I don’t want a ton of carbs and very very little protein I need my meat and my cheese and my bacon even though bacon is a meat and of course a little bit of fish in there for the health reasons the philosophy at the Mud Club is all about the bagel being the vessel that serves you these incredible Meats cheeses sauces and everything that goes into making these delectable creations with that said let’s get that bacon egg and cheese [Music] M so I got to eat this B while while was still a little bit warmer damn that’s good funny enough this one might be my favorite out of all the four that I’ve eaten and I think it’s just cuz it’s a classic combination but again it’s slightly elevated so it subverts your expectations a little bit in addition to the bacon scrambled egg and cheese it’s got an aoli that’s made with freshly grated horseradish and also the Mud Club sauce which is sort of like a ketchup it’s got plum tomatoes cherry tomatoes garlic probably a couple other things making a magical sauce I typically don’t even like a sauce per se on my bagel but the aoli and that sauce together Mia magnifo it’s making me very happy to eat a sandwich like this in the morning I think it’s a TI the Montreal and the bacon egg and cheese are my two favorite hair from what I hear they’re about to move out of this popup into a more permanent location so let’s hope that we can attend the Mud Club for many years to come cheers [Music] yo we finally made it out to the golden Diner in the two Bridges neighborhood of lower Manhattan kind of on in the Edge of Chinatown Lees and it’s taking the traditional American Dina infusing Asian influences into it turning that experience on its head we’re here for the weekend brunch which sometimes you may have to wait up to 2 or 3 hours to get in because we have Bagels earlier we were more than happy to wait for a couple hours to let that stomach empty a little bit they got a bar space but we got a little table today we had to partaken some of the most popular dishes the golden pancakes AKA Pan and the Korean Fried Chicken Wang those come with aide of daon radish that’s been tickled also got a bottle of water and of course you know about that midday I got to have my coffee bro no cream no sugar it’s a small cup hopefully there’s free refills all right so let’s go ahead and slice these massive pancakes up ooh fluffy melted butter and we got uh huge pancakes the size of vinyl records over here here we go wow very [Music] buttery I taste that Maple in the butter too it’s like a memory foam pillow on your breakfast plate with a lot of butter it’s an absolute certifiable amount of butter on this pancake also got a couple over easy eggs on the side that’s good the first batch they brought to us was slightly overdone so we asked them to bring us new ones and they they did that so Props to them honestly these are sweet enough without the berry nice and Fluffy from outside a little bit of slight crunch I’m about to do a chicken wing now how’s this for a combination chicken wing and pancake M [Music] crispy I taste that GOI Jang very good little bit of glaze [Music] M that’s good the chicken’s still piping hot nice and Meaty you always want a chicken wing with that good crispiness you don’t want a soggy breading this breading is perfectly crispy good sauce good meat excellent combination with the pancakes you might not think these things will go together but they really do it’s kind of like chicken and waffles I guess but like an Asian version and we got some daon [Music] radish super glad we got to come out to Golden din finally obviously they have a lot more to choose from on the menu including a cob salad that they don’t offer during weekend brunch but honestly bro I don’t think we could have fit in a cop salad we just barely finished These Wings and the pancakes I still got a little bit on the plate but otherwise the coffee was good the atmosphere is super chill it’s just a a fun vibe overall definitely a good spot just to hang out get some cool elevated diner food that’s fun to eat rich flavors hearty you’re not got to walk away hungry after this you’re either going to have a full stomach or a doggy bag [Music] we braved a lot of Breeze and a little drizzle to come over to the East Village to stop at Amar Raw Bar they have two locations in Manhattan the other one’s in the West Village and we’re here just in time for happy hour we had our golden Diner we had our Bagel sandwiches now it’s time for some oysters and champagne you know how we do happy hour last a couple of hours and the great thing is it’s every day not just Monday to Friday so we got here right when they open right when they kicked off happy hour cuz you know we had to get these oysters in and we got 12 oysters to start we can get a lot more oysters but you know you got to start slow just Ease on into that warm up the oyster muscles first we got the bed of ice four St Simon oysters and eight barcat oysters some from Chesapeake Bay some from New Brunswick we got a ponzo a co*cktail and a Minette to go with that we got a couple of glasses of bubbly this is from from France oyers and champagne is a perfect way to have a great date in New York City and if it’s happy hour everybody wins funny enough in Boston our oysters were more expensive all right [Music] cheers M those are three amazing spots that you can hit up in lower Manhattan all get my highest Japanese American eery SL mini grocery store with all sorts of Japanese touching is you can get everything here from dried squid to gummy colas we ordered two of the most famous dishes these are the things that you find in Publications like New York Times and the Gusto weekly Hawaiian bowl has a fried egg macaroni salad and spam we also got the spicy chicken KATU sandwich with a chicken so big it looks like a continent that has a side of potato chips and before everything gets cold let’s jump into it this is just an enormous piece of chicken it’s uh pretty comical looks spicy see cuz it’s got that reddish tint on the breading here we go or there’s a spicy mayo on it along with those pickled vegetables extremely crispy with juicy chicken meat and a very crispy exterior is insanely good today’s the first day I’m eating a sandwich that takes about five bites ticket to the actual bread truly wonderful textures and flavors very important for a chicken sandwich to be crispy and juicy at the same time the bread is almost irrelevant it’s more like a tool to help you deliver that spicy chicken KATU straight to your taste buds they should call this sandwich the ichido cuz it’s an [Music] MVP it’s a perfect sandwich to eat on the Ginza subway line all right I’m going to try the Hawaiian Bowl this looks like a work of art fried egg green onion more pickled vegetables rice macaroni salad you know the Hawaiians love that macaroni salad try that one first M creamy it’s very creamy firm pasta amazing flavor to it uh try that piece of spam grew up eating spam all the time with eggs and in tortillas that’s spamed on right baby thank you very much of course you got a little bit of rice on the side mix up this bowl a little bit I guess it’s a generous serving of spam too we got three fat pieces in there along with that fried egg at the corner of Grove Street in Cypress ab and Ridgewood Queens you can find Mama Yoshi’s Mini Mart which is nothing to do with Nintendo and everything to do with the coolest Japanese American snacks that you can find in the Bor Queens we had to try two of our most famous menu items today the chicken KATU sandwich you could also get it spicy which is what I elected to do and if you’re a vegan don’t worry they got cauliflower but the point of these sandwiches is that they’re just absolutely massive just take over the bun bun is like this small and the chicken underneath is like that big it was quite enjoyable to eat nice piece of protein for all you weightlifters out there and then the Bowl the Hawaiian Bowl was basically like a work of art macaroni salad rice fried egg pickled ginger green onions a little bit of nori on top but in addition to stopping into Mama Yoshi mini Mar for some bites lunch or brunch they also have a bunch of Japanese groceries like Ramen and Squid and chewy gummies and shrimp chips coffee canned Japanese tea and everything you could want from your home of Japan or Hawaii if you happen to be from there I’m from neither so I just enjoy as an observer from the outside it was so much food narissa and I combined could just barely finish what we ordered Mama Yoshi herself has done a good thing here in wigwood I say to you arigato go [Music] M all right bro y’all know that I literally cannot function unless I’m eating New York style pizza at least once a week keeping in Ridgewood Queens we hopped on over to Manos Pizzeria not Manos I was tempted to say Mano but it’s Manos Pizzeria you walk into this Pizzeria and you think that it’s an old school joint from maybe the 30s 4S or 50s but actually they were established in 2021 it’s the home of the 5day fermented pizza dough that’s just mindboggling the Big Bang of pizza dough takes place right here at Manos I can’t even fathom that many days to ferment the dough after 2 or 3 days I’m already already eaten it because this is our first time at Manos we had to get a nice sampling of what they have to offer so we got four garlic knots with a beautiful red dipping sauce and then we got three slices Grandma slice special manoella slice that is chicken cutlet vodka sauce shredded mozzarella and a swirl of pesto woo are you kidding me it’s for real and then their minucci Sicilian which is only made on the weekends that’s got calabrian pepper sausage pepperoni mozzarella cheese red sauce and a dash of Mike’s hot honey know my feelings on hot honey on Pizza I was once a skeptic but now I’m fully a Believer without leaving the Bor of Queens we traveled from Japan all the way to Italy so let’s get into it before it gets too cold pretty standard for a Grandma’s slice little dash of oregano parmesan cheese ooh that’s some bright fruity tomato sauce M EX excellent cheese there a good pizza dough A razzled Dazzle amount of chewi just that hint of crunch let’s go to the manoella slice this is the only traditional New York slice that we got nice dollop of pesto chicken cutlet M check out how thin this is that’s amazing and then the crust at The Edge gets nice and plump yo M this is delicious dang I’m constantly amazed that we can go to all these pizzerias around New York and still try new things amazing stupendous phenomenal out of this world combination pesto chicken cutlet vodka sauce those three things alone that’s enough for a high-end dinner with some natural wine but to put it on a pizza slice man you are just talking new levels of culinary greatness the manucci Sicilian nice and thick like I like my pizza I like my pizza like I like my women petite yet thick I already told y’all everything that’s on this slice it just looks so beautiful lots of red my favorite color and my favorite food okay amazing s seriously amazing m absolutely perfect honestly I can’t ask for much more out of a pizzeria I have all these amazing slices on tap available ready to serve to you it’s crunchy it’s fluffy it’s cheesy meaty saly imagine everything great about pizza that you love put it in this slice the manucci Sicilian so so good and not to be anticlimactic but we’ll try our garlic knots M this little thing right here with Dazzle even Wario it’s got so much [Music] garlic for our dinner in rid with Queens we decided to come to rollos one of the finest restaurants not just in Queens not just in New York City but the entire United States of America reservations at rollos are sold out months in advance but you know I just walked in dropped my name told them how many subscribers I had almost 700 and they immediately cleared off a table for us that’s what I do for my boys to give you the best recommendations not just in New York City but the entire world because we ate so much today we wanted to go for more light bites but of course a nice bottle of wine so we got a traire aromatico that’s an orange wine skin contact from it Hala we got wood grilled salt and pepper shrimp with the heads on all the shell on so retain all that juice and natural flavor once you peel it you end up with something like about [Music] this there’s nothing like grilled shrimp Super Media and amazing Wood Grill flavor they also have a housemade mortella they have some other Italian cold Cuts but if you’re talking housemade mortella I’m a sign up on the sign up sheet oh yeah I still can’t believe how Oscar meire took stuff like baloney and Mortadella and turned out something awful when you go back to the roots of what these meats are this is it right here I’ll pair that with a funky orange wine excellent excellente all right boys you know I’m always on the hunt for an amazing Burger whether it’s here in New York City Chicago Miami LA or even Boston rollos is known for their double cheeseburger with grilled onions and a djes Yes you heard me right djes ooh that’s juicy [Music] that beef is melting in my mouth and that nice dijan sharpness nothing like a grilled flain grilled burger Burger King you better watch out cuz there’s a new burger in town it’s from Rolos rollos is known for a lot of things natural wines pastas Woodfire Grill but they also advertise on the window ice cream it’s actually housemade ice cream this is the caramelized banana ice [Music] cream you know I have bananas in my smoothie every day but this is just taking it to a whole new dimension all right we had to pair the banana ice cream with a chocolate malt to kind of get a chocolate covered banana type of vibe going super thick and chocolatey I’ve been to my fair share of restaurants around New York City Rolos is certainly up there in terms of experience Hospitality quality of food and service we had an amazing experience and you never know what you’re going to get when you go to a place that’s got a lot of hype surrounding it even I get a little anxious about that stuff but I could confidently say that rollos brought it the Mortadella the shrimp the burger the ice cream the bottle of wine everything was phenomenal great date spot great place to come to celebrate 1 million subscribers or even a birthday and those were three places in Queens that I highly recommend they get my stamp of approval they get my Wax Seal I give it my trophies my stars my medal of freedom everything I give to these are here in aoria Queens one of the most diverse neighborhoods of New York City and our first food stop of the day is between the bagel on 30th Avenue which is right off the end train stop for our you Transit off ficado out there and it’s such a cool little atmosphere they got music blasting which is one of the reasons we brought our food over to Athens Square a Greek themed Park ancient Greek themed so if you’re a history buff and a food buff man aoria is the neighborhood for you speaking of food it’s time to eat we got the soul Meats Bagel which is their specialty creation where Korea meets a Jewish Bagel right here in Queens New York son it’s an everything bagel with scrambled egg cheese bulgogi and a little bit of kimchi on there you know for good measure show me the bagel I think this is American cheese that kimchi juice is soaking into the bagel it’s going to be nice and Soggy like an Italian beef wow when you eat New York Bagels all the time they start to blend into one another as long as they’re hand rolled and boiled then baked they kind of all got a similar texture and flavor but what really sets Bagel spots up part is when they can throw together a killer sandwich and this Korean Bagel sandwich here at between the bagel yo this is definitely a game Cher less of a breakfast sandwich to me and more of kind of a brunch early lunch type of deal which is perfect because it’s afternoon right now and I haven’t eaten anything the Bogi beef is sharp it’s tender and that scrambled egg in there is nice and soft the kimchi really lends a lot of flavor to this as well it’s just a a really incredible sandwich that you would not expect I guess you could expect to find something like this in New York City at this point what’s unexpected but still you know it’s nice surprise it’s a big fluffy Bagel nice and chewy they don’t skimp on the ingredients here there a lot of beef a lot of egg Nice Slice of American cheese good kimchi this is an incredible sandwich this is something bro that you have to try especially if you had a little bit too much to drink the night before AKA hangover this just might be the cure for your woes they also specialize in Ben’s balls AKA Korean arini this has kimchi mozzarella a little bit of Bogi beef and some rice in there top with an amazing spicy sauce and we already ate one of these cuz he just hands them out as you’re waiting for your bagel talk about a legit business owner who wants to keep loyal customers let’s go M wow that’s incredible that sauce is just the right amount of spicy you’ve never had arini it’s basically a big rice ball that’s battered and deep fried tender rice inside of a crispy shell good amazing flavors and of course you can’t forget about the cheesiness in there so good M perfect appetiser a little side dish to your soul Meats bagel and if that weren’t enough food you could even get some dessert the banana pudding with Nilla wafers in there how about I was like can I get some banana pudding he like yeah just go ahead and take some I don’t think I’ve met a cooler restaurant owner than the dude that runs between the bagel a friendly Vibe cool atmosphere like I said the only reason we didn’t eat and film there is cuz the music was on full blast and you know how YouTube feels about that anyway it’s time to dig into some soft and mushy banana [Music] pudding if Bill Cosby weren’t in jail he would definitely love a pudding like this oo that’s good good banana flavor M very good very good very nice okay thank you food trucks in New York are as common as beaches in Miami and on that note while you’re in a story you got to try some Greek food so you combine the two Greek food truck Frankie saki right here on Steinway Street is as good as any place we got two meat sticks here chicken and the beef and you can see they’re topped off with a nice slice of I think French bread and they’re hot off the grill burning up my hands and dripping juices that’s why they give you the napkins at the bottom here we [Music] go oh wow that’s good there’s no easy way to eat meat on a stick I’ve come to that conclusion but that’s good it’s like getting invited to a Greek backyard cookout right here on the street Bread’s pretty crispy as well goes nicely with that chicken they ask you what you want on the meat you can get hot sauce you can get barbecue sauce I just got some lemon juice and some oregano and there’s a lot of places to get Saki around the story a matter of fact we went to Crystal saki in our 24 hours in Queen travel film we wanted to try something new so we came over to Frankie all right let me TR some of this beef I think between the two I prefer the chicken chicken’s a little bit more tender and juicy beefs a little drier but I think it was already sitting on the grill cuz when we ordered it they handed the beef first so still got some good flavor it’s good beef somebody should make a puppet show just meat on sticks I caught that chicken before it fell I knew it was coming off the stick it’s good they got French fries salad shrimp lamb you can get peeter bread as well they just gave us this free bread I think you could ask for extra if you want but I don’t need that many carbs I just need my protein yo really good combination crispy bread grilled meat A++ [Music] m [Music] [Music] it’s time for an afternoon Brew we’re back at single cut beersmiths in aoria Queens Gusto gang y’all remember we came here for our 24 hours in Queens and enjoyed the on draft selection today we’re going with a heison and a cottage logger which is aged in Oak barrels they got some cutesy names for the beers but I can’t remember and I can’t be bothered to walk over to the menu and read them off to you suffice to say they come in these 10 oz beautiful stemless wine glasses and they’re both refreshing for a hot day in atoria we’re basically in the middle of spring not quite summer yet but we’re starting to get some of those hotter temperatures here in New York City NBA playoffs about to start so [Music] cheers he advising ooh nice and cold super refreshing I can practically taste the Oak Barrel this tastes like beer we ordered another round but we got so hyped that we started drinking them already while they were ice cold an IPA that has notes of tangerine and we got the nice ale which is a golden ale everybody loves gold I love gold you love gold cheers this is a Kim hibiscus sour Ale in a 10 16 o plastic cup so you can take it to go if you want it’s very red just like hibiscus flowers that I used to cultivate when I was a wee young child growing up in Chicago oo sour and hibiscus I really like the beers here they taste like beers which is what beers should taste like yo we still out here in a story of queens now at abukir an Egyptian seafood joint that’s on the top 100 best restaurants in New York City according to the New York Times I’m still formulating my own top 100 list make sure you stay tuned for that so far we’ve had the best Baba Gano I’ve ever had in my life and some hot ass peer bread I need some gloves for this peer bread dip it in a little baba Gan with some looks like some olive oil in there ooh that’s good Smoky babaan with hot peer bread crispy on this side soft on this side ready [Music] oo tell me when now we got some Egyptian rice fried calamari six scallops thank you and some grilled shrimp with garlic sauce let’s dig in while it’s still hot this is the calamari no sauce needed M so crispy now that is a jumbo ass shrimp that’s some amazing grilled flavor Egyptian rice [Music] we also got some scallops perfect it’s been a while since I’ve had scallops those are super tender meaty little chewy an amazing spread of freshly made Egyptian Style seafood and we got a brand Zeno on the way oh yeah it looks quite hideous blooper real yeah I guess the [Music] thing say this is a whole brand Zeno blackened with lots of spices and presented whole on a plate with a little squeeze of lemon that’s some balling brino so juicy flaky and tender all the seafood here has been topnotch it’s a fun setting too first sit down they call you up you get to pick the seafood that you want everything’s on Ice then you choose how you want to cook you can get sides once you’re at the table like babaan rice salad Peter bread whatnot they also have drinks I believe it’s Bob B don’t quote me on that but everything has been phenomenal so so far and we’re having an amazing Seafood Feast yeah that’s good how is there not bone in there Che carefully you don’t know let me be like a serious food vlogger M the fish is approximately 165 each chew reminds me of the Mediterranean Sea the flakiness of the fish is comparable to the best of the best in the world all right bro
